Celebrating Portugal Heritage Month, MP Olivia Chow Invites Community to Movie Screening

TORONTO – Celebrating Toronto’s Portuguese-Canadian roots and vibrant community, MP Olivia Chow is hosting a Portuguese movie showing on Sunday, June 17. The free event will take place at Randolph Academy from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please join Olivia for this extraordinary cultural event and RSVP via the Facebook page.
Nominated for an Academy Award, José e Pilar is a moving documentary about love and genius. A portrait of José Saramago and Pilar del Rio, it reveals the touching and remarkable relationship between the Nobel Prize winning author and his journalist wife. Following the couple during their last years together, this film shows their public personas, their private simplicities, and the creative process behind one of his celebrated books.
