Cycle & Sole: Join Olivia for a Safe Trucks and Roads Rally
NDP Transport Critic Joins Grassroots Pedestrian Rally and Bike Ride for Safer Streets on June 2nd
May 7, 2012
TORONTO – Needless deaths occur on Ontario’s roads every year. Pedestrians and cyclists are injured and killed due to the lack of proper safety measures like truck sideguards, separated bike lanes and pedestrian-friendly traffic signals. Community organizations like Safe Trucks, Share the Road, 8/80 Cities – to name a few, are rallying pedestrians and cyclists to demand action.
Join Olivia Chow and her allies on June 2nd for this important event - on bike, foot or skates. Making our roads safer and getting our regulations and infrastructure up to speed is direly needed as we find ourselves confronted tragic deaths and stagnating traffic fatality numbers every year.
Please visit the Facebook event page for details and to RSVP. Together, we can make safer roads a reality, in Ontario and across Canada!
