Public Transit Meeting on August 23
Tired of waiting an eternity for a streetcar only to have 4 come at once?
Dreading another winter where you freeze your fingers and toes at streetcar stops?
I am hosting a meeting on how to improve TTC streetcar service and would like to hear from you.
When: Monday, August 23 at 7 pm
Where: St. Christopher House 1033 King Street West (at Douro)
TTC chair Adam Giambrone, Go Transit Gary McNeil and the Clean (electric) Train Coalition will be there.
Topics:
- how to improve TTC on the King streetcar line, especially in the Liberty Village area
-the high speed rail link from Union Station to Pearson Airport, including status, cost, stops, timing and type of trains
- increasing transit funding from the federal government.
-why and how the federal government should invest more funding to TTC/GO Transit. Canada is currently the only G8 country that does not provide any funding for the operation of public transit.
Hope to see you on Monday August 23.
