Important neighbourhood meeting on G20 security zones

Hosting the G20 Summit is a great opportunity for Canada to take its place on the world stage and for Toronto to showcase all we have to offer.

However, with this opportunity will come some challenges.  It is important that G20 organizers recognize that local residents and businesses will be impacted by this conference, given the current plans for the “security zones” and take steps to mitigate any inconvenience and provide compensation where appropriate.

I will be attending a meeting organized by local councillors Adam Vaughan, Pam McConnell and the Waterfront BIA where you will get full details around security access for residents and business and have an opportunity to voice your concerns.

Date:  Thursday April 29, 2010

Times:  Afternoon: 3:00 – 5:00 pm or Evening: 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Location:  Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Room 308/309
